2008 -  four drawings of a series I had here for some time.

Inanna

2008 – graphite. the cuneiform in her shoulder means INANNA, which is the percursor of the akkadian ishtar, also a goddess of love and sex. the cuneiform in his arm means DINGIR, a god, any god, or AN, the sky god. in this piece I wanted to capture the hierogamos, the sacred marriage with the goddess in an explicit way. I would cover the bed fully in roses, but I had no patience. hope you like it.

2008 – graphite and photoshop retouch. I decided to do a little posing this time, mainly due to the crescent online searches for soft and erotica drawings.

I seriously need a better eraser and better graphite, this one leaves awful markings on 80g paper. I’m also starting to note that the quality of my drawings vary radically depending on the surface I have the paper on.

Hexana Lifted by Golem

2008 – graphite. probably my best drawing to date. This girl was already featured in Hexana and the Altar of the Golem. It is a random character of mine, I’m not sure about her story yet, but it’s pretty obvious she likes rock solid sex with mindless minions she raises with her *powerful* magick! lol

High Priestess of Ishtar

2008 – just graphite.

Once, in the pre-classic world, Ishtar was one of the many names the goddess of love was known by. Sometimes she was more the goddess of war and lustful sex than properly love. Her temples in southern Babylon (probably the better recognized is the Uruk one) were famous because they had female priestesses (of Ishtar) and male priests (of Anu or other god) that would give sexual services to the population. And sexual engagement with the gods was seen as devotion and worship.

I don’t know how the people that used their services or these priests were treated by the general population, but as a polytheistic nation, Babylonian citizens wouldn’t bother much with it like in today’s monotheists.
